Is it normal to look down upon fat people ?

Not all the time, but from time to time I will . Like I know how being fat feel like .I'm still losing fat. I went from 283.5 to 213 and am still losing . It makes want to go tell them to go exercise, but like in an inspirational sense. Idk, I just think people like that are just lazy .specially when they're eating enough food to feed a family .

Some of the nicest and coolest people I have known were fat or overweight.

It's normal, but not kind. However, your reasons are a little flawed. Not everyone is overweight simply due to poor lifestyle - a lot of people have actual horomone imbalances that make it very difficult to lose weight (I, for example, gained 60 lb in college [not lazy] & now am having incredible difficulty losing it bc of the horomone thing). Some had a medical problem which prevented them from being active enough to keep that weight off. Some can't afford healthy foods: $3.00 on the McDonald's value menu goes a lot farther than $3.00 in the grocery store. Some people are genuinely lazy, but you don't know that for every person you see.

Lol yeah its normal. I'm not gonna lie, i absolutely hate obese people. They are lazy. They sit around and feel sorry for themselves. they KNOW that sitting around makes them more fat but they do it anyway and then they are like " IM SO FAT I NEED TO EXERCISE!" But the fat people tht get out and are jogging.. im like *HIGH FIVE* good for you bro. I think i hate them so much because when I was little a fat kid fell on me and broke my leg. and a fat kid fell on me again and broke my thumb... but w.e, nbd

While it is normal, and I'm guilty of it at times as well, it is certainly not kind. I just go by what I was taught since I was little; to keep my thoughts to myself if they were unkind.

i grew up part of my life in asia, where there are far less fat people when compared to n. america.
so when i went to the US and Canada, i was shocked and overwhelmed by the number of seriously obese people.

i truly believe that not finding obese people attractive is completely natural, much like how most of us find mentally handicapped people to be not so sexy.
there's not much good about being fat, with all the physical challenges and disorders - which we innately don't want to pass on to our offsprings.

then again you should never go around insulting fat people - that's never right!

I hate fat people who just stuff their faces & won`t make any effort to lose weight, & expect others to do stuff for them because they can`t move much because of their weight. If it`s due to glands or something else beyond their control, then i just feel sorry for them.

I think it's kind of depends on genetics too.. I'm not fat but some people does because of their parents or grandparents are fat.

Sorry, but what makes you think that you have a God given right to play judge and jury on anyone! While I applaued you on losing weight and it must have taken a lot of determination and will power, but you shold be more understanding than anyone. It really is amazing how a person can forget themselves. xx

I think that when you see "fat" people its a reminder of how you once were, and you probably don't like the old you. It's not fair to call them fat or lazy, or look down on them. After all, that was once you. Now, imagine feeling the same way about you and it should make you reconsider.

Yes because it's hard to look past them, wink wink, nudge nudge.

  • I get that you might feel that way because you managed it but you've got to understand not everyone is fat because they nom food all day.

Like me, I was a lot lighter three years ago. Reason I am like I am now is because of my social anxiety, I don't get out enough.

I'd love to go out and walk around and meet people etc. but I don't and so I remain not so skinny. But I'm still a person.

Why in the actual hell are people voting no on this. The guy says he is losing a ton of weight and sees other fat people who aren't working towards losing anything as lazier because they are in a position he was once in but worked his way out of. This is 100% normal.

Are people voting no because of his annoying period displacement or something?

I know it sounds bad but its hard not to do. I do it all the time and then I realize I'm probably fatter than the person I'm looking at....I'm pretty fat lol
It gets complicated, though. for the past few months, I have gone to the gym every day m-f. To most people though, I am still fat, they just do not know that I used to be fatter. But to people I've known, they see the difference and give me a lot more respect knowing I'm doing something about it.

In a way you feel like a preacher and eating yourself obese is sin. You hate the sin not the sinner. It's normal to look down on others sadly; however, you don't sound condescending. Like I said you want to preach to others that they can lose weight and do it because in your eyes being fat is like a sin.
