Is it normal to loathe beer but like other alcohol?

I love to drink on occasion but I really hate beer with the exception of certain dark beers. Is this normal?

That'd be like saying that it's weird to love to drink pop but dislike a few different flavors. Of course it's normal. I don't like to drink alcohol, but from experience I know a lot of people who drink like a fish and have specific drinks they dislike or don't care for. You don't have to like everything.

Of course! I hate beer and love straight Jack Daniels! I just have to watch how much I drink of it considering its not like beer where you can drink it all night!

  • I will never have another mojito in my life or anything that resembles it. I'm starting to like beer when at first I didn't care for it. I also find I hate weak tasting beer/drinks the more experience I have with drinking. I use to really like Woodchuck Cider but now it tastes watered down and just down right disgusting.

Of course. I like most alcohol (and have tried most of it), but I'd never drink ouzo, raki, white sambuca or pernod for enjoyment. I just don't like it.

Also, a friend of mine went off all beer overnight. This happens with a lot of people who have a bad reaction to something by drinking too much of it. You just can't face it. It happened to me with vodka and another friend with Southern Comfort.

  • Alcohol is so straight, it's just not hip.
