Is it normal to live in your parents guest house

Im 18 and recently moved into my parents guest house, all of my friends are moving out in to apartments in the city but It is convenient to live here while im going to university. It has a living room two bedrooms and a kitchen and bathroom with a heated garage so its no different than my friends places its just closer to home yet they all make fun of me for still "living at home"

To be honest... that sounds fucking awesome. Your stupid ass friends are probably jealous that they have to live in shitty little apartments with neighbors that are loud as fuck or get pissed off my other people's loudness and then they have to pay bills out the asshole.

That guest house sounds WAY better than most apartments. Fuck, keep the guest house as long as you can, get a job, save up money, and LOL at them for having parents that don't love them.

  • You're 18 and they're making fun of you for that?

It's normal in my eyes. And you should help with the bills. It's better to get used to budgeting now while you still have a safety net rather than later when there's consequences.

have to start somewhere. in europe people live with thier parents much longer than people in the states do. its a different dynamic though. depends on your situation.

I'm 22 and still live with my parents and will until I graduate next year. I say there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. I know people who moved out and got their own place only to move right back in their parents home. It's the most economical way to go. You can save money, so that you can get your own place eventually.

Actually, there is nothing wrong with anyone living with their parents at any age. People have their different reasons, and we shouldn't judge. On the other hand, if you're an adult who lives at home because you're just plain too lazy to get a job and enjoy your mom doing your laundry, then no that's just not right.

Your friends are being stupid. It's normal and convenient for you. Even though you still live on your parents property, it's going to teach you some form of independence. Lucky you!

This makes me think about the episode of "Fresh Prince" when Hilary moves into the pool house.
