Is it normal to listen to soft rock?

So many rockers take for granted hard rock, but do many people listen to soft rock? I like such soft rock songs as Boston's 'More Than A Feeling' and Elton John's 'Candle In The Wind', I love soft rock, it's legendary, and I can slowly wave my hands in the air side to side to soft rock, instead of listening to hard rock or heavy metal. I've noticed there's a lot of soft rock songs, is that normal?
