Is it normal to listen?

So last night my roommate had an overnight guest. Since her room is right next to mine, the sounds of them having sex were audible in my room. When I was young and having enough sex, I didn't mind such things when they occurred. But now that I'm older and not in a romantic/sexual relationship, it kinda bothered me. I put on headphones and tried to ignore it, but occasionally I could still hear a moan or a bump. It it normal to be bothered by such sounds? Does anyone else like or dislike it? Anyone listen closer? I'm curious...

    It's normal. The older we get, the less tolerance we have for other people's nonsense. Your "personal space bubble" gradually becomes huge.

    When I was young I thought it was funny if I could hear other people having sex. Now it just makes me think "shut the fuck up and go to sleep". I see their noise pollution as rude and inconsiderate. Then the next day I can't look them in the eye. I don't want to know what people's sex noises are like. It's between them and their partner. I hate being privy to it against my will.

    Maybe it's time for you to get your own place.

    You should play the most annoying music very loudly.. that’ll kill the moment 😂 no one wants to find themselves humping to the theme song from sponge bob .. total hard on killer lol

    Because I was watching a program on TV but there's no cable or antenna on the LR TV. And your response didn't address my question. But thanks for your very important contribution!

      Yes, he was very helpful! Hahaha. I hate it too, makes me extremely uncomfortable. That's one of the reasons I live alone. I don't really know what you can do in your situation, sorry. :(

            Back when I was in university I'd do that whenever my neighbour had sex. She was a loud moaner.

            I'd play porn music, or speed metal XD
