Is it normal to like your own status/comments on facebook?

Just wondering because my friend does it all the time and people tell me "why does he do that" and I have no response so is that normal?

    Why does Facebook even have a button for liking my own status? Of course I like my own status. I'm fucking hilarious. AND sexy.

    But yeah, it really depends on what the status is.

    I think liking the status also brings that status back up the top again, so as they can get more likes.
