Is it normal to like to listen to radio static?
I cannot handle silence, so most of the time I just tune to a staticky channel and listen to the buzz.

White noise is calming and enjoyable, it has some relation to the heartbeat you hear in your mothers stomach as a baby. Thats why people love going to sleep when it's raining.
There are the NOISE genres of music, it's all static and beeps and drones.
I love the "harsh noise" stuff like Merzbow. He's rad!
There is a common belief that radio static, or specifically white noise, can be very effective as a relaxation tool. Similarly, the sound of heavy rain emulates the white noise effect. So it's pretty normal to listen to it if you find it relaxing :)
