Is it normal to like this girl that i pass school but don't know

I pass this girl in the hallway at my middle school at least 2-3 times a day and she always no matter what glances or looks at me and waves at me sometimes and smiles at me everytime too. But I don't even know but I want to know her. How do I ask for name or number in best way, please help?!!??

    The best way to really get to know her would be to just talk to her as if she was your friend, w/o anticipation of anything more than friends. Don't be fake at all bcuz it will sabotage your efforts! If there's an opportune moment, introduce yourself, "hi, i'm chuck, i just wanted to introduce myself bcuz i always see u walk thru here & never had the chance to talk to you, & wanted to bcuz u seem like a cool chick, but i was always lil shy.." <see what happens, if u two hit it off> "here's my number, text me whenever, maybe u would like to see a movie..." this approach will work if anything will.. good luck!
