Is it normal to like the star wars prequels?

When I was 9 years old I saw Star Wars "Episode 1". By then I had already seen 4-6. Then I saw "Episode 2" at age 12 and "Episode 3" at age 15. I loved them all. I never understood why people hated those movies so much. Maybe I was just always at the perfect age to fully enjoy them, but am I really the only one who loves all the Star Wars movies?

I liked episode II and III. They're showing the whole run here on Saturday afternoons so I've recently seen II and III (it was IV last week). Which means it's Empire this Saturday. Woo!

  • I'm afraid you'd be in a small group my friend. Episode I is almost always vilified. Beyond that I would agree with you.

Have you heard about Disney (*vomit*) making a new Star Wars trilogy? I'm not sure what to make of it but it's great that my parent's generation grew up with Star Wars, I grew up with Star Wars, and now a new generation will grow up with Star Wars.

In many ways it's the myth of our time much like the tales of Loki and Jormungandr being recounted at the fire of some Norwegian village; it transmutes the ideals of the Western world into a parable to be retold time and again.

I enjoyed the prequels, Phantom Menace was okay but boring, Attack of The Clones was very boring and too long, Revenge of the Sith mafe up for that in my opinion, but I prefer the old ones with Mark Hamil and Carrie Fisher in them, Empire syrikes back was the best. The older movies were before my time, and a few people I know dislike the movies from the ’Imperial Star Wars era’ but I dont know why they dislike them

My main problem with the prequels is Hayden Christensen, who is quite simply a mediocre "actor''. Also, killing off Mace Windu was a huge no-no for me, that really pissed me off.

While I do love the Star Wars universe, I've never rated the original trilogy that highly anyway, so I have no concerns about Disney taking over. They've worked well with Marvel studios so I don't see why they can't make a decent Star Wars trilogy.

I love all 6 movies, and will see the 7th when it comes in 2015. I also don't understand why people hate it so much. I'm an expert on Star Wars, I even know who Vader's seceret apprentice wad between episodes III and IV. I don't understand it's critisizem. It's perfectly normal.

  • Hahahaha. This is the best question ever! I don't know why, but the whole conceit of worrying about this made me laugh out loud.
