Is it normal to like someone ten years older?

Hi. I'm 19 but I like someone who is ten years older than me. I have the mentality of a 25 year old (people tell me this all the time). Would it be wrong to even do anything with this guy? (not saying I will). Just want some opinions, is it normal?

I don't like big age gaps my sisters husband was way older than her had been married twice before now 7 years later she's living back at home where she should have been all along, we didn't think he was a bad guy till she moved out, be careful if you get attached to someone older dig infinitely past a bit I know we wish we had x

I agree it may seem like more of an age difference now when you're 19 but as you get older the difference will seem smaller.

The big thing to think about when getting into a relationship at 19 with someone older than you is what you want out of the relationship vs. what he wants. Obviously he has less time to have kids and may be at the point in his life where he is looking to settle down - where you may want something slightly more casual.

    Just something to think about.

Completely normal. Guys take longer to mature anyway (I should know, I am one). I say go for it. Besides, as you get older, that difference will mean less and less.

There is an 8 year difference between me and my wife (younger), btw.

  • Sure why not? You're an adult so it doesn't really matter. Do what you want and be happy I say.

I think this is normal. 10 years apart isn't too bad plus the age difference will seem less and less as you get older. I know a couple who is 12 or so years apart and they've been happily married for over 20 years.
