Is it normal to like someone like this

So I got back into the dating game by downloading an app. So I was speaking to a few guys at once just getting to know them, added them on snapchat.. one stood out so I took interest in him.. he then decided to make excuses up and ignore me.. then one of the other guys send me a snap a few days later and I made a joke to him and we spoke and he flirted.. and so did I and all of a sudden I noticed how much I liked him. Now I think that made me aware of my actions and us talking so now he's stopped i don't know what to say or whether to message first I kind of feel annoying... he's said a few confusing things but if he liked me surely he'd message.
He does reply if I contact first but he doesn't but I haven't left it long enough maybe? I feel I should not contact him when the conversation ends and see if he contacts me as he's stopped flirting but it might be because I've gone all shy... any ideas ? Like I used to ask him to snap me but now I'm all shy to do it.
