I like to watch James Cagney dancing "Yankee Doodle Dandee" and him dancing downstairs (woefully short unfortunately). Also I love the chinese whisper scene in "White heat" where he is told his mother died. He is my favorite at the moment do you guys have a favorite movie star from now or the past?
Hello fellow lover of Cagney. I agree he is lovely and white heat is one of my favorite movies. The scene where he is told ma died is some of the best acting I've ever seen.
White heat is also one of my favorite movies. I love that scene, his face when he starts freaking out at the table then knocks out like six people in a row. It's also clever in that it explores the notion that alot of psychopaths were mommas boys without father figures, far before psychology had made the connections.
Cody jarrett is a character ahead of his time.

I adore Old Hollywood, especially classic MGM. I love the beautiful black and white studio shots you can buy. I have so many favorites! Marilyn Monroe of course, is a given, there's also Claudette Colbert, who has the most beautiful eyes, and James Dean, who is handsome and amazing in his films. Sidney Poitier is one of the best as well and there isn't one movie he's in where he hasn't awed and stunned me. My favorite movie of classic cinema is Mildred Pierce, it's the perfect film to me with a twist ending before twist endings were a big thing! I could go on more but then this post would be the equivalent of a 10 page paper, lol! :)
My favourite, modern movie star is Christian Bale. Love, love, love him!
And, unfortunately, I haven't seen that many old films. I really love them, but there are so many I feel like I have to watch before I can answer. I'll go with Orson Welles, just because I love Citizen Kane so, so much! However, I really don't know many other old movie stars:(
