basically i have a best mate who it the opposite sex and i have known them for nearly two years and i just thought it was brotherly sisterly love sorta thing but recently we have met people on a first aid course and on a DofE expedition who sed we would make a cute couple and its startig to scare me a little bit because there were moments that i thought he liked me more that as a friend but now im just confused...

    I had the same thing i fell for my best friend. I told her that i loved her and that i wanted more then just friends and that i would respect her decision.

    .. Now.. I am in a happy marriage with my best friend. We still do everything together it is going great.

    My advice sit down with your friend. Tell him you need to tell him something. Tell him you like him more then a friend. If he does not respect it. If he secretly feels the same then your in luck.

    im going through this right now. I couldnt hold the feelings in any longer and told her i wanted to be more then friends and she told me she only sees me as a friend and always has. Now our friend ship is on the edge.

    If you like him then definately go for it and ask him. Who knows what could happen? Relationships with your best friend often turn out to be the best kind because you were friends first. I'd say that if not soon then sometime in the future you may decide he is the best thing that ever happened to you. :)

    well, the only advise i can give is if you yourself like him as more than a friend you should talk to him about it,instead of guessing . with him maybe he does and he is not sure if you like him the situation tends to flip on either side, if he does not thats just life and you can be friends still and be happy. had that happen to me once we still remained friends, and everthing was fine. But it's up to you i would ask in a way that would not make it sound wierd or somthing, but as a friend to friend disscussion. you don't want to spend time wondering do you?
