I feel like Im the black sheep of the whole school. Everyone listens to 'modern' music and judge me when the conversation is about my music taste. Im kinda confident about my likings, yet I still feel rejected by the society, especially the teenage part of it..
Classical music is not for the mindless classmates of yours, that's why they're judging. Keep it up!
*sings in operatic voice* I LOVE CLASSICAL MUSIK! I'm young too. I am not fond of that negative and horrible modern MUSIK. I do make exceptions here and there, but for the most part, I don't like it.
I think the OP means classical music, but I could be wrong. Ive always likes somw classical music myself, so I think its normal, especially if you play an instrument, which I only ever barely learned piano. Sports interested me much more though, so I quit my lessons.
Pardon me for wrong writing of the word, by classic I meant classical music, such as vivaldis etc

nothing wrong with liking classical, heck if anything, you have refined tastes. i don't care for most modern music either.
myself, my favorite is classic rock, especially progressive rock like pink Floyd, rush, and yes, and I'm 22. I've heard some rock musicians are also fans of classical and find it inspirational.
the modern pop music is generic garbage with no effort put into it.
I love classical music too. It's good for when I want to lie in bed and fantasize until I'm ready to fall asleep. It's so relaxing! Do you like modern classical music, like Ludovico Einaudi or Yiruma? I love their stuff!
Your classmates have no taste. Ignore them and continue to like what you like. :)
Don't worry, I don't listen to any of the popular genres either, and I'm 19.
I listen to mostly black metal, death metal, and similar genres and a lot of people in highschool thought I was weird and judged me for my taste in music.
I think to judge any person based on what music they like, is ridiculous. People are so much more than the music they listen to.
And lastly, I think all the new popular genres and artists such as miley cyrus, nicki minaj, taylor swift, bruno mars and everyone else that first into that specific group of utter conformity, are really boring anyway, but that's just my opinion.
There's something about the metal genre that's just so raw and inviting. I can listen to it nomatter what mood I'm in - angry, annoyed, excited, content, I will always enjoy a good death metal song. A lot of people will probably just disagree and tell me all metal is a bunch of shit but the beautiful thing about most people who listen to metal is, we rarely care for what others think.
I mean if I were to meet you and you were to tell me that, I might take a moment with the information and regarding you with it, that's part of getting to know you. I wouldn't think badly of you cos of your taste in something. That's my point. Maybe you're insecure about liking classical music?
