Is it normal to like a guy who's over me?

I've liked a guy since January of '09, and eventually we dated on and off from December of '09 - March of 2010. He broke up with me at least four times and it broke my heart every time. We were kinda of friends wit benefits every time we broke up, and were even oce school ended. Now, I was finally getting over him.

But the other day he texted me and told me he likes me again. All my emotions flooded back in, & I'm completely head over heels. Again.but now, he ignores me again, & I'm scared he went to the other girl he's with every time me & him don't communicate.

I'm too young to know if it's love, but I really, truly care for him, & if it's not love, it's the next best thing. Is it normal to like/love someone for over a year and a half? :|

    your feelings are normal but you should try to move on. how many times does he have to hurt you before you realize hes not good for you?

    he doesnt love you, and your feeling puppy love. He is playin with your heart. NEVER let a guy play with your heart, as you should not play with theirs.

    Sounds like what you're feeling is infatuation and not love, which is perfectly normal. We all feel that sometimes, you just learn through experience how to tell the difference between the two.

    As for this guy, he's taking advantage of you. Get away from him and stay away. Just like you said, you can only be over him when he's not around.

    I have a similar situation. The girl I like is flirting and talking to me then out of nowhere ignoring me. I've liked her on and off for two years so I think its normal.
