Is it normal to like a guy who is 12 years younger than you?

him: 12 years younger but likes most of the things I like. Old movies, anime, good video games, cosplay, the ren faire, writing, and reading.

me:30 years old, finishing up my masters degree in fine arts.

I have only known him for a few weeks, but we hit it off from the first time we met. At first I thought he was older(closer to 25) that is until he told me he was 18.

Is this normal?

That's completely normal, and there isn't anything wrong with it either. From what I can tell, it seems you genuinely like this guy, and you only found out about his age retroactively. It may also be quite nice for him to be with someone who is a bit older and more experienced (not just sexually, mind you). In fact a lot of guys really wish for that sort of thing.

Do be careful with his heart, however, as he may not be as hardened to the world of relationships as you, and also be prepared for some things to be a bit more on the "immature" side. This isn't always negative, in fact sometimes it's great! But it can also put some people a bit off-base if they're not prepared for it.

As I always say, fortune favors the bold, my dear! Nobody lies on their death-bed and thinks "I wish I'd chased my passions less"

I wouldn't expect a lasting relationship out of it. Its possible I guess but not likely in my opinion, if that's what you're even after here. He's still got a lot of growing up to do.

Things like that are not very uncommon where I live. You should however realise that boys of eighteen want to have sex and very few wnats a realtionship. Be aware that maybe your expectations may be very different. Enjoy but don't dream.

Well it sounds like he's 18.

So he's legal. However, I'd be careful about going in too deep, not when you've only known him a few weeks.

Not just whether or not you're sure he's the one, but also if HE's sure you're the one for him.
