Is it normal to like a guy who is 13 years older than me?

I really like this guy who i work with who is 13 years older than me. We always have a good time working together; laughing till we cry, pranking each other, etc. we definetely have a bond and people around us have picked up on it too. He made a comment the other day that he could not date a girl more than 8 years apart (which i thought was weird....like what makes the criteria 8 years and not 7 or 13???) i thought maybe it was his way of rejecting me but im not sure. He did invite me to something outside of work for the first time. Im also trying not to message him first. I just want to forget about him and i feel like i am maybe foolish for liking this guy who is 13 years older than me????? I really do not feel the gap when we converse and everything....

Hey guys older than you need love too. I'm in my 50's and yea, I could date, do, or be interested in females 13 yrs younger than myself. (Easily)

Generally you find that people have these rules in their head but then if they meet someone really special the rules go out of the window.

As long as you're both legally adults the age difference is fine, but it is of course necessary for both parties to be into it. I really can't imagine being interested in someone 13 years younger than me, but I know people who have similar age gaps in their relationship who get on just fine.

Legal age of consent is 18 in most states. Even younger with the parents permission in some states. That’s all that matter in love. Tell him

Yes, that is normal, confess your feelings to him.

Gaps aren't a thing unless they're like 15 years. 8 years is nothing as long as you're 20+

Heck yeah. When I was 24 I was madly in love with a 42 year old.

If you're both consenting adults age shouldn't matter. Though by what you said, it sounds like he thinks it won't work due to age.

Having someone to flirt with at work is fun.

What is the thing outside of work he invited you to?

It might have been a hint that he thinks you're too young for him, sweet. Unless you're an exception to his rule. How old are you, anyway? Age gaps are less noticeable when you're older.

In my opinion, that's not an age difference to worry about
