Is it normal to lie to my friend about my sex life?

My friend is 23 and very conservative and does not believe in sex before marriage. She has had the same boyfriend for several years and they've only gone as far as kissing. I'm 22 and I've been with my boyfriend for over a year and we have a very loving relationship and we are sexually active with eachother. I have not told my friend that I've had sex because I know she will be very dramatic about it and lecture me for months. Is it normal that I lie to my friend about my sex life to avoid the confrontation?

    I would lie too. I HATE religious nuts lecturing me on what they believe. My friends all share my general beliefs about sex and I still lie to them when they ask because it is just none of their buisness.

    Hmm, I wonder if she's lying to you at the same time? Maybe she thinks that you are real conservative too and would be upset if YOU knew she had been having sex?

    You shouldn't feel like you have to lie to a friend. She may not like it but she'll deal with it. You don't have to tell her, but don't lie to her.

    if she cant accept who you are then i wouldnt really want her as a friend anyway. personally sex life is something i just dont really talk about.

    As friends u are allowed to have varied opinions. If she wants to enforce hers on u then maybe u guys shouldn't be as good friends... U have accepted hers, she should accept yours.

    I wouldn't lie. If she really is your friend then she'll get over it. Friends are allowed to have varied beliefs and opinions.
