Is it normal to lie about being pregnant

My sister-in-law pulled this stunt with my brother. They split up over it. She then went off and actually got pregnant on a one night stand. After a couple of years of single motherhood, my brother stepped back in and they had more kids. But because of the lie, one of the kids isn't his own (although, as a family, we don't make any distinction - she'll always be my niece, even though we're technically not related).

You haven't let things spiral enough out of control yet, and you can still resolve this. I'd be as honest as you can without letting slip what you've done. I.e. say you thought you were pregnant and have now realised you aren't. Just hope he doesn't ask about the dates or when you found out. If he does, you really have to be honest and front up.

i thnk your first step is to get birth control organized. second is to tell him you were mistaken. third is dont try that stunt again, you will lose if you do. the boy, you word and your self respect all gone. its not too late

I think it's normal to impulsivly do this when you're scared of losing someone. As long as you don't go any further and just tell him you got your period everything should be fine.

I'm NOT saying this is a good thing to do at all, I just think it's a normal reaction for a girl to have when she's in that state of mind.

I was in this situation with a guy. I was so scared of losing him then found out he was cheating, I was late and said I was pregnant. He didn't believe me and we broke up and he never talked to me agsin. He had cheated on me a lot and was very manipulative and I lost so much self respect being with him. I still regret lying but Im so glad it ended a really bad relationship. Any guy who makes you feel that insecure and desperate enough to lie about being pregnant is not worth it anyway xxx

Bringing another life into this world is nothing to lie about. And playing with this dude's emotions is some bullshit. You are wrong for doing that to him. Tell the truth and if he breaks up with you then you deserve it.

You really should tell him. You don't need to tell him that you lied; just tell him the truth: that your period came late. If he loves you he'll stay with you still. Having your boyfriend stay with you just because he thinks your pregnant is pointless if he doesn't really love you.

If u love him then u should show it by not being manipulative and dishonest. You're not going to get good results with what you're doing- you get back what you put out. I would talk to someone, or try to do some things to help get to the bottom of why you feel so insecure that he's going to leave you. Do some things that are good for you- maybe help others- things to raise your level of self worth. He can't be responsible for making you happy or be your entire world. You need to find that within yourself so that you can then have a healthy relationship with him. Be honest with him.

If he sticks around because he thinks you're pregnant, he'll end up resenting you (if he doesn't already) and everything will fall apart. If he finds out you've been lying, he'll resent you and things will fall apart.

I was in the same situation and i never got the guts to tell mine and i regret it every day, its now a year on and i've never told ANYONE, i just left it, i said i missed my period and no more came from it, i think he thinks i was pregnant but something went wrong and i dont wanna talk about it. Now its too far gone to say anything and i feel AWFUL everyday, especially as i recently DID get pregnant and he was REALLYY HELPFUL throughout my abortion... i'd say tell him you've came on, and then say thanks to him for being supportive and hope for the best, this isnt the way to keep a guy :/

You're toying with a mans worse nightmare and there are gonna be a lot of men out there who hate you for this! You can either be honest and tell him the truth or tell him you've just come on, either way you HAVE to tell him.
I really hope you're not one of these girls that lie about it, and the only resolution you have is to actually get pregnant =/ enough children in this world are from broken homes and trust me if you have a child with this man it will not make him stay with you, it may work for a while but inevitably you will split up.
Some things are meant to be, if the only way you can keep him is by pretending you are pregnant then you're not really meant to be are you?
