Is it normal to let music, society, and popular culture change who you

I'm a black man in America and life gave me a horrible hand. Broken home, criminal family, raised in a violent neighborhood etc. But i still graduated college and i have a decent life and a family. I often go back to my old neighborhood and talk to some friends who were not fortunate enough to make good choices. Anyway I'm starting to see videos and in real life, Caucasian kids portraying an urban lifestyle. I was in the neighborhood and I entered a corner store and seen an odd young Caucasian man with a huge fitted hat, baggy jeans, tattoo on his face, bandanna in his left back pocket, buying a blunt wrap. I saw the same guy in the suburbs with his sister who was clearly not living the same lifestyle. Is it normal to let music, society, and popular culture change who you are??

To some, it's easier to let others do the thinking for them.

Yes, it is very normal. That is the nature of pop culture.

Do I approve (not that you asked)? No

Yes it is. People do this for a variety of reasons. For some, it's because it is because it speaks/appeals to them. Others might do it because, they feel pressured to do so. For the sake of being cool. Etc.
