Is it normal to leave doors unlocked for emergencies?

I tend to want to have my car doors unlocked while I'm inside so that in in case I'm in an accident and need to be rescued out of the car, it might be easier. I'm a college student and live with my family and I make sure to leave my bedroom door unlocked when I go to bed (usually I have a strict habit of always locking it) in case some emergency happens during the night and I need to be rescued from my room. I do the same thing for when I'm in the shower at home - most the time (depends on who's there at the time). I fell in the shower once when I was a kid and hit my head on the ceramic soap holder hanging out from the wall - I almost passed out. I think maybe that's where this fear stems from.

Anyone else do this?

You might want to lock them. You're going to get robbed someday if you dont.

Normal... though I am the opposite. I ALWAYS have to make sure every door is locked! I am so paranoid someone is going to come into my house and attack me or something.

I'd say it's just as normal as my need to lock every door and window in my car to keep hypothetical car-jackers away.

Well I'm OCD about locking doors, but what your doing actually just sounds smart...sure maybe a little overly cautious, but at least you are being safe. As long as you don't leave doors unlocked when you're not around and your stuff can get stolen, I dont see a problem with it
