Is it normal to laugh at your own thoughts?
Well, I have quite an unusual sense of humor to start with. It may appear I am a bit indifferent to humor in general, as I can be really disgusted by some things that are percieved as funny in western society(like exaggerated heterosexuality).
When I do find something funny(think of Mahir Çağrı's website, for excample), I drain all the laughing material to the point where it becomes absurd. I fantasize around it to create an idealized version of the matter, making it almost my own joke. I simply can't be instantly satisfied. I have no 'outbursts' of laughing, because my rate of laughing can't be externally influenced. For me to find something funny, it requires intellectual enhancement. Show me a video of Borat(one of the few things I do find funny) and I'll rewind it approx. 25 times(no kidding!) to joyfully percieve it with my own thoughts.
I wonder if there are others who recognize themselves in some of this. Most people have found me to be eccentric in laughing matters.
