Is it normal to laugh at other peoples misfortune?

I sit on my computer and read about other peoples woes and mishaps... and i can't help but laugh... both at the people and the responses... i really should feel sorry for these people... but i just cant help but laugh... is this normal?

I'm the same. I more or less laugh at anything these days. A lot of people do it. So yes it's normal

I agree, some of the questions are really dumb, and some situations are f--ked up. Reading all this sometimes makes me just feel better about my own life lol

It depends on what the topic/concern is. Some things are not serious in nature..and are funny...but when someone is sharing deep secrets, emotionally disturbed or despressed....No its not normal. Its cruel and mean. You should always remember that when you make fun of someone the same stuff could happen to you or a loved one,
But light and fluffy stuff is funny...something serious isn't.
You need to have a heart in this world, people are human and need a human touch.

Yeah. There's a german word for that. "Schadenfreude" and means happiness at the misfortune of others.
    That's why I love the site fmylife.com ^^
