Is it normal to laugh and cry after not sleeping

one night me and my sister stayed up all night together (not rude) and in the morning at around 8am we starting laughing at everything that wasn't even funny.

my laughs sounded like wheezing and my sisters sounded like quaking and after i left the room for a minute i broke down and started crying for no reason even though i wasn't sad IIN?

It is normal. I've never cried like @Pepperoni_Sticks said, but I've uncontrollably laughed. Personally, I think it's fun, but just get some sleep and you'll be back to normal.

Well, I haven't slept in 36 hours so far so I think I'm qualified.

Yeah, this is a fairly normal reaction, especially if you don't do so very often. It messed with your body's natural rhythm and it tries to compensate and strange things happen, usually with emotions.

I think it came from How I Met Your Mother but there was a saying to not do anything important after 1 or 2 am because your brain doesn't quite function properly.

Whenever I'm sleep deprived I laugh hysterically over nothing. I've never cried per se, but it's more than likely just the brain's way of saying you need more sleep.
