Is it normal to laugh???

I have had a lot of people in my family die, and when I hear the news I just start laughing. I'm NOT happy that they died, I love my family with all my heart and am heartbroken whenever one of them dies. But when I'm told that someone has passed away I can't help but smile or laugh. I feel absolutely horrible about it. Is this normal??

dont worry im kind of the same, me and my sister sometimes laugh at my friend who hurt herself when she fell over ( used to) although we were little and feel bad about it now, i think that smiling or laughing is a way of expressing/ releasing anguish in a different way rather than those who cry

Maybe its not that you aren't bothered by it, but just the awkwardness in that moment when they're telling you the bad news gives you the giggles.

I don't really know how to explain it, but maybe its that seriousness that gets you going. Its so serious, its awkward, and you just bust out laughing.

Maybe you are one of those people who laughs when they get emotionally flooded. Do you laugh when you get nervous also?
