Is it normal to know the time w/o looking at a clock?

quite frequently I'll wonder what time it is and then a number will pop into my head and then I'll find a clock and I will have been EXACTLY right to the exact minute despite not havin looked at a clock for a long time. (I'm not ALWAYS right but I am an extraordinary amount of the time). also, when I set the timer on my oven, I'll go watch tv and then I'll wonder how much time is left and I'll go in the kitchen and the timer will go off the second I enter the kitchen, as though I could sense the exact time left. is it normal?

My cat has this skill too when it's feeding time.

  • I think it's normal to know the time or round about the time without looking at a clock, since I think we humans have a natural sense of time.

Like I can usually tell the time without looking at a clock and most of the time be somewhere near the actual time. Or failing that I know if it's early morning/late morning or afternoon/late afternoon.

Yeah I'm kinda the same wat I always wake up 1-2 minutes before my alarm clock goes off. I don't set it for same time everyday either.

I don't know if it's normal but I can do it too, and so can my mum. I always thought it was about being very intuitive and somehow attuning yourself to the natural rhythm of a day. For me it has nothing to do with the sun...just a feeling. I am never 100% sure, and may be off by few mins or more sometimes or dead on other times. I also often know when it's going to rain or there's going to be a storm, again I think it's being a hypersensitive and intuitive.

Our bodies have a built in clock. If you have a routine you are going to remember it.

  • I do the same thing!!! I will say what time is it and then I will think about the exact time I think it is and probably 75% of the time I'm exactly right! Maybe we just have good time perception skills.
