Is it normal to kiss on the first date?

I've known this guy for a very long time, we were friends in elementary school but have just recently been talking on Facebook and texting each other, and we're really close. We're going to go on a date soon, and is it normal for me to kiss him? If so, how MUCH of a kiss? I don't want to seem trashy...

It all depends on the timing. If it is the right time; a relaxed, soft, lips slightly parted, no-tongue, kiss is appropriate.

Just make sure he doesn't have any weird bumps around his mouth, onion breath, and proper gum has been utilized beforehand.

  • Relax. You'll know. You're already friends; let it be mutual.

But just remember when you're young--less is more on a first date.

Maybe its better for you to wait until he kisses you. Sure is ok to kiss on the first date, but what if he doesnt want to kiss you? Are you gonna embarrasse yourself? Go for it if he leans first, thats what I suggest.

BUt if you decide to kiss him first, just give him a small peck to see how much he wants to kiss you.

If you are ready, go for it. See if he kisses you first, or just play it by ear. You'll know if it is the right time or not.

No-one can tell you how far to take the kiss. It just might go on further than a kiss. Just take it as far as you want to go.
