Is it normal to just want to be alone every once in awhile?

I feel like my parents are breathing down my neck. I can't walk across a room or throw something away in the trash can without so much as a 'What are you doing?' from my mom or dad.
They act as if I've done something really awful and feel the need to constantly ask questions or hover around me endlessly.
It's a pain in the ass!

  • That's normal for sure. Try calmly talking to them about it. Give examples. Ask them to put themselves in your shoes. They probably mean well & are unaware of how the are coming across.

I believe it is very normal to want to be alone. I love my parents because they are always there when i need them, but i do need a little breathing space too. When i'm alone i feel that i can finally think and relax. Sometimes we just need some us time.

TOTALLY normal to want to be alone. I love my mom and my dad and I am like so close to my dad and we love being together. BUT sometimes I just dont want NOBODY around. I dont have anything to hide, I just want some peace.

Some parents get all mad when you try to talk about that to them. FIRST thing they think is that you wanna do something wrong. Other parents are open minded and will understand.

My mom understands me wanting my door closed sometimes and when my door is closed I dont want nobody opening it. My room is my own private world. Ive never really talked to her about this, she just seeems like she knows. But my dad doesnt like me to close my door especially now that I have a computer in my room (He DOES knock and waits for me to tell him come in before he opens the door). Not that he doesnt trust me, I think he is just trying to protect me.

But yeah I totally understand what youre sayin here!
