Is it normal to itch so much in the middle of the night

I find that if I wake up in the middle of the night I have a really hard time getting back to sleep because I itch all over. It drives me freakin crazy.
It's the only reason I'm up right now posting.
My back itches like crazy. Theres nothing there. No bed bugs or anything like that. Just feels like bugs are on my skin

You might be allergic to the material that your sheets are made out of. Or maybe you have tags in your PJs that are irritating your skin.

Scabies? Try taking a bath in tea tree oil and wash all linens.

  • I get that, and in my sleep too, I wake up in really deep scratches, even though I have short nails...which means I must have been scratching proper hard. Needless to say it freaks me out.

My husband is rather hairy and it causes him to itch in the night.

I used to have that problem. It's gone now. I put a thin layer of blanket on top of the bedsheet. It's the knitted wool type of blanket.

Bed mites are microscopic, y'know. Or maybe the bedsheet has those little, little dots formed on it. That happens after mixing it with some other incompatible fabrics in the washing machine.

Sometimes we don't notice we're itching before we lie down on the bed because we've been distracted by other things while working. Is the water supply really clean?
