Is it normal to imagine someone is your boyfriend/girlfriend for years?

For years I imagined this guy was my imaginary boyfriend. He’s a real person, and I knew him for years.

It's not good to live in an imaginary world. You should give this up and find someone for real. It's not healthy.

It might become or already is an obsession. This can cause problems if he gets a girlfriend as you might not take it well.

    Confess and see what happens.

I think if OP confessed that it would possibly creep the dude out a good bit.

I think he would ask for sex.

          Maybe, and maybe not.

It would all depend on what kind you guy this dude is, and whether or not he would be attracted to her, and or whether or not they are compatible.

I think confessing this is just asking for trouble. Instead I think she should just talk to him to see if there is any mutual interest.

Not even as a teenager did I do that with celebrity crushes, I wished they were my boyfriend however. Sounds pretty obsessissive IMO. Don't live in a fantasy.

I don't see why you talk to him irl. Is he married? Its unlikely that a single guy would just turn you down like that.

I can see the appeal of what you're doing, but I feel like it would be torturous to live in the land of make believe in your head while simultaneously knowing that it's not real.
