Is it normal to identify yourself with a band?

I used to listen to Interpol on the radio some years ago and didn't like their music because I didn't understand it. But now that I've gone through so many things, each and every song by Interpol describes a situation in my life. I can't go through a day without listening to "Specialist" or any other song by them. It's sort of my addiction, my obsession.

Is it normal to listen to the same songs every day and never get tired of them because you feel free when you listen to them?

I've gotten tired of a lot of bands, and (as different as it is), I'm like that with Rammstein. >> I think it's the ambiguity that helps. It can be grotesque and sexual or insightful. Not to say it's ALL I listen to, but I do know if I don't listen to it for awhile I will get emotionally kind of fucked up.

It's all about familiarity in my opinion.

you are normal in my opinion. ask any old peroson you know, they probably still like their music.

people connect to art/music on a personal level and it starts being their favorite. enjoy just being a fan!
