Is it normal to i think i'm crazy because i'm smart or vice versa?

Not to gloat (I'm usually very modest), but I have an intelligence that most would call "gifted". I don't think like most people and I don't know why. Sometimes I actually think I'm crazy because I'm smart; sometimes I think I'm smart because I'm crazy. It's very confusing...

I think a lot of people think they're clever and that they think differently to everyone else.

There's definitely a link between intelligence and certain types of mental illness. The majority of serial killers are of above average intelligence.

There's a difference between a link and a direct correlation, though.

I was reading about that not too long ago, how there's a pretty strong correlation between intelligence and schizotypy. Interesting stuff.

"Common sense is the most fairly distributed thing in the world, for each one thinks he is so well-endowed with it that even those who are hardest to satisfy in all other matters are not in the habit of desiring more of it than they already have."
