Is it normal to hope, that new zealanders are nothing like british?

My hopes and dreams... I made a tiny mistake moving to the UK from Europe (UK ,might be part of EU, but is nothing like most cultured EU countries)and lost my soul. Well, still holding on to it. :) Fortunately, UK gave me perfect opportunities to travel and see how the rest of the world is much better. The question is - what about those places, that Britain has touched with its greedy, greasy fingers. Please, let me know, whether New Zealand is, or isn't NOTHING like UK.

    Aus and nz people are not like British - they are so much more nice & cool, cute too

    When I was there I found New Zealanders to be friendly but rather boring. They preferred to stay isolated from the world it seemed, with about 3 minutes of international news out of a 15 minute news broadcast.
    It was also one of the coolest places I've ever lived. Even on a 'warm' summer day, if the wind was from the south it had a real bite to it. No tundra between the polar ice and NZ like we have in North America.

    Funny how the attention from New Zealand slowly shifts towards Australia, even though it wasn't even mentioned in the first post :)
