Is it normal to hold hands with my friend when we sleep together?

as in, i've known her for about 3 years and our whole group is pretty close. we'll lie on each other, use each other as pillows and are quite free with hugs, and do spent a lot of time together. when we go out she'll hold hands with other people and put her arms around their shoulders too. recently we've been having sleepovers and she'll somehow end up beside me when we finally do sleep, and she does try to hold my hand. we often end up with fingers intertwined and she's taken to stroking my fingers/nails. i'm not sure what this is supposed to mean, and if it's normal for friends to do so, because i am close to the others and i do hold hands with them, but it never seems to be quite the same sort of thing.
