Is it normal to highly dislike "popular", "obnoxious" girls?

I'm an 18 year old male, and I just graduated high school. I was pretty popular in high school but all the "popular" girls that I was friends with made me sick to my stomach. These girls were very attractive, however I found them highly repulsive because of their personalities. I don't want to stereotype every popular girl, but they all seem so obnoxious, immature and mean. Point is: Is it normal to dislike girls like this? I find I am way more attractive to the "shy" girls who usually don't have many friends. When I say "attracted" I don't mean I want to have sex with them, I mean like I just want to really get to know them. Is this normal?

    Obnoxiousness is a negative trait, so yeah that's normal to dislike.

    Popularity however is a bit more broad. Usually people are popular for a reason, i.e. they appeal to a notably large proportion of the general public. Resenting someone because everybody else likes them is superficial and that kind of prejudice is unfair.

    I would say, in all likelihood, the girls you're describing are no more popular than a lot of the 'ordinary' or even shy girls, but are more noticeable and outspoken, creating the impression that they command greater respect; they might get more attention, but that doesn't necessarily equal greater affection.

    Popular girls think they're doing the world a favor by looking good and expect something in return. What they get in return is usually a crowd of men cheering while putting dollar bills in their g-strings after the sun sets.

    I'm a female, and I hated girls like this at my highschool. I hate girls like that still. I hate guys like that.

    Hell, I hate people as a whole group. Individuals are usually ok though.

    Yeah, sounds normal. Maybe you're intimidated by them? Because popular guys can be just as obnoxious, immature and mean, and you haven't mentioned anything about them. Maybe you just hate women in general?
