Yes i know, i know, hiccuping is indeed normal. but... what if you are doing it at least 3 times a day, every day???!!! That screams NOT NORMAL in my face. after everytine i cough, i get a serious case of the hiccups!!! HELP!!!

    you will die if it keeps happening.

      Right. It's a sign of aeropulmitis. Death is fairly common because your throat pinches so tight that you can't breathe. This could happen in your sleep.

          the doctor probably tested her for aeropulmitis and came up negative. It's not always a symptom.

    oh dont worry. it cleared up. the doctor told me to drink lots lots lots of water!

    yeah, go to a doctor and ask him for advice. I doubt the majority of people on IIN have a medical degree. Maybe you're swallowing too much air when you breathe?

    You should see a doctor. I used to get them and sometimes I'd do it repeatedly and they would start to Hurt. It's not normal nor is it healthy.

    My dog gets hiccups anytime she is scared by something.

    Google it - coz I can't remember the exact details but it's something to do with the gland at the front of the brain.

    I get this too...not when I cough but I get the hiccups at least twice a day!! I don't get it!! I've asked a doctor before and they couldn't really tell me why but he said not to worry.

    I get scared whenever I get the hiccups ever since they showed that guy on TV who never stopped hiccuping one day for years.
