Is it normal to hear when i chew?

I have always had issues with my teeth. I grind them when I sleep and so have to wear a night guard. I always brush my teeth. However recently I noticed something strange. When I chew I can hear it and fill it rubbing against my ear. Does this mean my jaw is unaligned? Has anyone else ever had this type of issue. My dentist said its actually a very common issue.

Well, have you ever itched your eye and heard it squeaking, but nobody else can?

Maybe it's like the same when you chew food, only you can hear it, or something.

Maybe you're just overly conscious 'bout you teeth. Could be wrong...

OMG! My bf does the same thing he chews soooooo loud. I swear he is eating sand or rocks or whatever is super loud. Watching tv while he eats is the worst.
