Is it normal to hear tv or radio stations when i go to bed

Hi I am in a rural community and do have dial up internet, and satalite tv. When I go to bed (tv and computers off) I can start to pick up music, hockey games, news, it gets clearer as I lay there. I don't know where the signal is coming from and some of the songs sound good but I can't say I've heard them before. Any one else with this experience.

Man, I thought I was the only person that experienced this. I am glad to know I'm not! It always happens to me when I am drifting off to sleep. So, never really sure if it's in my head or if I'm actually hearing it

I don't know why I bothered with this avenue for my question. I thought someone might have had the same experience and would share. This hes been something that has happened for a number of years. I didn't come to the sight for nay sayer's. I was looking for information.
      thanks

I remember stories about people picking up radio signals with their fillings. Wasn't there an episode of Gilligan's Island about this?

Have you ever seen those opera singers break wine glasses with their voice? That's because the note they're hitting is the same (or a multiple) of the resonant frequency of the glass, building up the vibrational energy.

AM Radio works the same. The tuning circuit alters the resonant frequency to tune through the stations. I'm guessing something in your house has the same resonant frequency as a local AM radio station. The small vibrations this is causing are being heard as sound (which, in itself, is just vibrations anyway).

So don't worry - you're not going mad. And at least you can remove the offending article that's resonating. There's a man in China whose tooth fillings are the same resonant frequency as a radio station. That really is sending him mad. It keeps him awake at night.

Are you kidding? This is totally normal and the way radio works. There is less solar interference at night to cause solar noise. Radio stations boost the signal during the day and lower it at night. What you are hearing is another radio station before they lower the power output for the night.

I use to hear a trucker's CB radio every day around 5 as he drove past my house. And occasionally the CB in a biplane.
