Is it normal to hear parts of what you're reading spoken aloud?

I hear parts of what I'm reading as if someone else whispered them. It tends to happen more when I'm stressed out or tired but wide awake. Mostly I only think the words inside my head as normal when I'm reading but at times small snippets of it almost seem to jump or fall out of my mind and echo back to me as a foreign whisper. I can't control it and it makes me kind of anxious. Hopefully I'm not going crazy, but I've been unable as yet to find anyone else experiencing this.

I'm fairly sure that's normal. When I read I almost always sound the words out in my head, but I'm in control of that; that almost is the process of reading.

The thing I talked about in my post seems external and I don't have control over it. There's a very slight delay between when I read the words in my head as normal and then it's like they leave my head and bounce or echo back as an audible, foreign sound. Because of the slight delay it can happen just a moment after I've finished reading, so I can't stop it by stopping reading, that is unless I avoid reading altogether.
