Is it normal to hear a siren when some people are screaming?

Well, it happens since i can remember. I realized it some years ago when i was in elementary school, and when my classmates started screaming for some reason (like the when the lights goes off), and for a moment I stopped hearing everything, just a swinging sound like an ambulance siren. I thought it was normal, then.
But these days I was at the Physics class (it was about sound waves) and I asked my teacher why it happens. But he said he has never heard of it, and it might be a problem...
So, is it normal to hear this sound? Anyone else had this experience?

  • When people scream and yell at me, I can't hear any words, just a bit of noise. I've tried so hard to recall exactly what they've said, but I cannot. Growing up, my father used to scream and yell almost every single day and I was terrified of him. So for me it was caused by abuse/trauma.

Do you recall any sort of trauma from your past?

If not, maybe you have some overlapping grey matter in your head.

Well, not that I remember. No physichal trauma too. Just the usual with kids, some accidents like falling while running and sometimes hitting the head on the floor.

It's always the same noise, you know, and always when many people are screaming (doesn't happen when it's just one) in very high notes, so I'm almost sure it's physical and not psychological.
