Is it normal to have zero empathy but be extremely conscientious?

Is it normal to have literally ZERO empathy, emotions or feelings for others yet be extremely conscientious?

For example, I'd never let anything happen to something I borrow, and I give it back promptly. I don't like to ask for anything from anyone, anyway. I value other's time as much as my own (I'm never late, I'd never take advantage or keep someone waiting)....and other such things. I work hard, always go above and beyond (but not for recognition....)

I do all this without caring whatsoever. I found that most people who don't care also are NOT conscientious, and most people who are conscientious DO care about people. SO I'm figuring it can't be normal....but I'm asking anyway. More for discussion than anything else, so please, let's talk about it!! Thanks.

If you value others time as much yours, then isnt that empathetic?

I agree that the two are usually linked, but maybe you're acting more out of a need for punctuality and orderliness than concern for other people. Maybe you just like things to be done the proper way and appreciate diligence for its own sake. It's also possible that you have very high standards for yourself generally.

That means you have morals but you might not feel a lot for other people. certain personality types and certain disorders make people care less. However if you are not hurting anyone its ok. Some people with emotional problems just kind of mimic what they see everyone else doing since they assume its what is expected. However do not feel any of those emotions themselves.

I'm pretty much exactly the same. For me it's like CoverYourEars said; I don't want to listen to people moaning at me, so I just do things to avoid that.

Also, it means that I don't compromise my position if, for example, I lend someone a pen and they don't return it. Because it's hypocritical and I really hate hypocrisy.

Empathy is not always the answer.
I can think of at least one notable example where the people of a great civilization began to feel empathy towards people who viewed themselves to be oppressed. The end result was the internal decay of this civilization and its eventual collapse.

I don't think you understand what "Empathy" means.
