I didn't mean to vote no. i really don't know if it's normal, but i don't think so. I know someone who took about 10 30Mg oxycodone a day and eventually settled down to 6 10mg hydrocodone a day, but he takes them for pain. Some days he will go without them, but all he feels is pain. His brother, however, throws up and feels sick if he goes a day without a killer, but he's been taking methadone and percs.

Is suboxone like methadone? If so, maybe that is the problem. I know it's supposed to help people get off of painkillers, but i honestly don't see where it helps. If hydrocode is available where you live, maybe you could try tapering down with those. They seem to be less addictive than oxycodone and they have less side effects.

Methadone is a full Agonist and suboxone is a Partial Agonist/Antagonist. Both medications are used temporarily to help with an an opiate addiction. I have never taken methadone but am told that methadone is a lot stronger and that withdrawals from methadone are worse than any other opiate. Methadone will help some people, and buprenorphine will help others. Every human being has a unique body chemistry, and some may tolerate one drug better than another. There are horror stories on both sides of the fence. Both Suboxone and methadone offer their own unique benefits; however, most of the stories about individuals coming off of Suboxone pale in comparison with coming off of methadone cold turkey. Your mileage may vary—this is largely dependent on the individual. In my case I started taking percocet (30mg) because I was stupid and continued daily because I liked the high, I now realize that this was one of the most stupidest things I could have ever done.So with all that being said if I am as serious about quitting as I say I am i'm going to have to suck it up and quit all together. I've gone from 24mg to 1mg in the last months. I think it's time for me to take that leap in try to go all the way to 0mg because if not I'll be dependent for the rest of my life.

The person i know who takes them says to just go through the withdraws for a few days, since they don't seem that bad, or just keep taking the 1mg.lol. Are you in pain or do you just like the high?

To be honest YES In the beginning it has always been about the high with me I started taking percocets to get high and eventually switched to suboxone for 2 reasons 1 to still get high and 2 I did not have the money but after being on the suboxone for an entire year straight and high everyday I was sick of the high and also this life the I created and that is why in November I decided to quit cold turkey in lasted for a few days but that high did pull me back in again but as of right now with the 1mg a day I am not getting high anymore I have finally been able to pull away from wanting to get high but now my body is dependent on the drug and yes I have been lucky so far to not have bad withdrawals and I wish I could just go through with the withdrawals cold turkey for a few days but I have work everyday can you PLEASE ask your friend if he/she has any tips on getting through the day working and withdrawing

Oh sorry, I'm not the OP. I honestly don't know very much about it except I had a friend a few years back who was getting methedone in lieu of opiates. (I didn't understand it myself)

I wanted to leave a more informative comment but I don't want to give incorrect medical advice either. :P

Yeah, i don't know if there is a such thing as correct medical advice when it comes to this. I just recently found out that people in U.S. can go to a clinic and get a methadone dose for years (indefinitely, as far as i know), paid for by hard working Americans. The docs let these damn things get out of control and everyone is paying for it one way or another. Well, i guess the people running the clinics are doing alright *sarcasm*
