Is it normal to have very short period on birth control?

Okay so I'm sick with worry. Plz if anyone know what's wrong it would be greatly appreciated. My period was late this month most likely from stress and not having sexual intercourse for about 5 months( I did use toys in the while I was absinent sorry for being blunt) anyway my period was due on the 23rd and I got it on the 31st my periods usually r irregualr and when I got mine it lasted about three days normal red color then on the fourth it went a brownish color and wasn't heavy then the 5th day a bit red again? This is also my first time taking birth control and unfortunetly it expires before my cycle of the 21 day pill cycle ends. We did use condoms with spermacide and he pulled out to be extra careful. Any information is greatly appreciated.

the pills contain estrogen and progesterone, the two natural female hormones. ... so you should have very short and light periods. ... It is normal for some women to miss a period completely or have no bleeding ~ you didn't mention your pills brand , but most of the ones from this decade will stop your period completely.

stress effects hormones a lot too, you should read your pill packet insert... you might need a small dosage adjustment.

I'd say it's normal. I noticed shorter periods while on bitch control.
