Is it normal to have to ask your girlfriend to prom?

well i have prom coming up and i think that its weird that i have to ask my girlfriend to go to prom with me. dont get me wrong i want to go with her but its not like im going to go with some one eles. its not that big of a deal but it is just weird that girls cant just assume that their boyfriend is going to bring them. is this normal, and please leave a comment

    Whether it's expected or obvious or not... it's an AWESOME opportunity to make a romantic gesture!

    If she says yes (most likely) then you score points for the romantic gesture...

    If she says no (unlikely) then I guess you guys aren't as serious as you thought... lol

        MY PERSONAL EXPERIENCE
        I was in a unique situation in that I had been dating a girl for 5 years with the last 3 of them being in secret as the family had forbidden us to even be friends.

        We slowly re-introduced the concept of me to the parents by having me "unavoidably" be at the same parties she went to, and after they got used to that.. being friends with her friends, and then suddenly... It was prom time and I was the only guy with a car and tux... so according to the parents I went "as a friend" to the prom with her... LOL.

        So my trial wasn't so much in how to ask her... but on how to go at all. lol.

        WHAT I'D SUGGEST FOR YOU

        IDEA 1:
        Go to her house and bring a large white board with you. Try to surprise her, make sure she does not know you are there. Call her and stand outside of her window. Have "Will You Go To Prom/Homecoming With Me?" written on the white board and tell her to look outside her window.

        IDEA 2:
        Go to her house at night and spell out the word "Prom?" with the candles. Then light them. Make sure to do this on the driveway or in the road. You don't want to accidentally cause any damage to anyone's property. Call her and ask her to look out her window.. or come outside...

        IDEA 3:
        Buy a dozen roses or a dozen of her favorite flowers.
        Make a card that says "Will you go to prom with me?" (Make sure you sign it...)
        Have your card and flowers delivered to her in class, or leave them on her doorstep.

        IDEA 4:
        Come up with something totally unique based on her personal interests...

        Example 1:
        If she's a youtube fanatic... record a message of you asking her be your date for prom, upload it, and then send her the link.

        Example 2:
        If she's into poetry, write her a poem which ends with something like: "And so I'd be honored if you'd be my prom date?"

        Example 3:
        If she has a favorite author, go an buy their latest book that she does not have, and on the inside dust jacket... ask her to prom!

        Example 4:
        etc.

        GOOD LUCK, I'M SURE IT WILL BE AMAZING!

            2. There is no easier way to write a book than to answer other peoples problems.

            3. There is nothing more satisfying than helping others.

            4. There is no better way to avoid doing your work than by doing something that is not your work.

    It only happens once and it's a pretty big deal to alot of girls. Do something cute. They have this thing on youtube where people ask people out to prom in some nice ways. If she works in retail, buy something from her line that says "Prom?" On it. Just write it on there :P Or go to mcDs or something and write "Will you go to prom with me?" On the inside top of the box. Just because your going out with her doesn't always mena you don't have to ask

    Prom? Coming up?... you mean in like 7 to 8 months? Hell you might hate each other by then. That is how High School works.
