Is it normal to have this random dry skin?

Lately I've noticed that the skin right behind my ears is really dry/flaky. Is this normal? I've just been putting face lotion on it.

    Sounds more like eczema. There's lots of lotions for it, and you have to avoid detergents.

    Could be Seborrheic Dermatitis, but I'm no dermatologist.

    A moisturiser with zinc in it will probably be helful.
