Is it normal to have the jelly of your eye swollen?

It started after a bout of bronchitis and then the doctors said I was now allergic to dust and stuff. So I used to get it once in a while when I do get in contact with dust. BUT recently, it has been occurring much more than before. Is it normal?

I've had that happen twice. Scared the crap out of me. It's basically a hive on your eyeball. Antihistamines work well. Tablets work ok, but if you can get eyedrops (should be able to do that over the counter), it goes down in a few minutes. I've never tried it on just the tablets, so I don't know how long that takes.

I used to have allergies very bad and the white part of my eyes did swell up. It was quite painful. I would close my eyes (which was more painful) then put ice on my eyelids. It felt better after that. Thank goodness that doesnt happen anymore.

  • Allergies suck!
Some people have to take daily allergy meds to keep their allergies at bay, maybe you do too. Ask you doctor what's right for you.
