Is it normal to have such an infrequent period?

Unfortunately I do not keep track of the exact day I have my period, so I can't give you an exact number, but it seems like I have my period around every 35 - 38 days - one month I might have it on the 8th, and then the next, I might have it on the 14th. The delay between my periods doesn't fluctuate much, it's just really long.

I thought that about 28 days was normal. I understand that everybody is different but I don't think my period is meant to be THIS infrequent.

It depends on why. People with eating disorders or poor nutrition can have erratic periods as well as athletes who train very hard. Stress can also be a factor (or a physical condition as noted above). Most of these things are worth looking at as they relate to overall health. It's not "normal" in the strictest sense of the word, especially is you are concerned about fertility.

Yeah, being on birth control makes it easy to know when your next period is, it's really nice. And oh yeah it has other awesome benefits as well. :P

If you want to be more regular, talk to your doctor. Chances are, they will put you on birth control, since it helps regulate periods. Worked for me! And it has other benefits as well, lol :)

I had the same problem. Got it checked out with my doctor. Turns out I have poly cystic ovarian syndrome. Can be serious in terms of fertility, but one month exactly after diagnosis I found out I was pregnant. Go get it checked out. All it takes is an ultrasound :)

I have mine every 45 days and apparently thats normal. Less bleeding could mean better health=less of a need to "cleanse"

Or less bleeding could mean anorexia. But yeah.

That seems extremely normal to me but that is cuz mine has always been super sporadic. A couple of times I've sorta had it for over a month straight, one year only four times. Once I didn't have it for 9 months. Lol and no, it wasn't associated with a pregnancy. And now I'm on a birth control and it is still unpredictable.

28 days is average but some have them every 21 days, some like you. You are basically regular.

I thinks this is normal. You are having about 10-11 periods a year and they don't have to run like clockwork.
