Is it normal to have stretch marks?

Heres the thing, im only 17, 5'6", and about 120lbs. I have developed stretch marks on the side of my butt and a little down the sides of my thighs. And is there anything i can do to get rid of them?

Tori is right, as usual. There's nothing that will make them go away, though plenty of products that will claim to. Unfortunately, there are also plenty of people who will believe it.

On the plus side, what you described is so totally normal. Don't worry so much about them because it's very common.

Sorry, stretch marks do not go away. They get lighter in color, that's it.

It's normal. A lot of people just get them in the course of growing up. I have some myself, and I've never been overweight. As for treatment, I think cocoa butter works. A lot of that kind of stuff is marketed towards pregnant (or recently pregnant) women since they tend to get stretch marks from the pregnancy, so that might help you look for something.

easyest way to remove stretch marks is a combination of mosterizing to prevent them from reforming and a proper diet and then let them fade as you get older there is a good chance they will well your young but once you get past the age of 30-35 there pretty much permanent and only way to get rid of them is through plastic surgery and i wouldent do that unless you think scars look better than strtchmarks

Stretch marks do go away.. they're by no means permanent, unless you previously damaged the skin around them.
Creams doing actually do anything, moisturising prevents drying skin which will help appearance but does nothing for elasticity. The only thing that works is circulation improvement, which is what people confuse about rubbing in lotions.

Rubbing your skin will 'refresh' the area and stimulate the cells. All cells are replaced, so they aren't permanent, it's just damaged skin doesn't regenerate properly, so you need to help.

Vitamin E oil worked for me. Rub it on 2 times a day. Takes a while, doesn't go away over night. Be patient!

Gaining stretchmarks in teen years is a combination of normal teen growth patterns, a lack of moisturization, and the lack of a well balanced diet... Which is very very common of highschoolers. ^.^ thus it is quite normal.

Honey, I've had stretch marks since I was 12. I'm not fat either, I've got them on my boobs, a littl on my hips, and on my inner thigh. I'd say you're ahead of the game.

Haha, whitney, my bf's a skinny guy too, and he has them on his butt. Maybe it's just a skinny dude thing, their butt's grow?? lol

Lol, my bf has stretch marks on his butt and he's a pretty skinny dude, it makes me feel better about mine tho. You sound like you got yours from growing, Stretch marks are normal, I got mine while I was still in hs, just use lotion to make sure they don't get worse, and then look and see if there are cremes to help fade them.

Try cocoa butter, will take a couple of months, but it will reduce the appearance. I have the same thing, and its annoying that not everyone gets that, but it is a normal factor for some people. Maybe try prducts that have elastin in it,or firming lotions.
