Is it "normal" to have sex with an older man and stay at his house?

I am a 23-year-old woman who is "friends" with a 39-year-old man.

We've known one another for over two years and counting.

I've slept with him multiple times and have even stayed at his house for a few days.

However, we're not in a relationship and he doesn't call me his "girlfriend."

He wants someone with goals and who's responsible; I'm struggling to get on my feet and be independent.

I LOVE older men [no, I don't believe I have a so-called "daddy complex"] and would even consider moving in with -- or marrying -- this man if he asked...

Is what I'm going through considered "normal," at least in your opinion?

Our society has issues with anyone who doesn't fit into a little box of rules, and, sadly, even though it's more acceptable for older men to date younger women, they're often called "perverts," "cradle robbers," etc.

It's normal enough as long as you're prepared to accept that this relationship is liable to never move beyond casual sex. Most people I know who've been in this position start to develop feelings and that often causes problems.

I agree, are you asking us about the age difference, or asking us about the casual aspect of your relationship with this man? If the latter, I support dappled's opinion.
