Is it normal to have really creepy dreams

I've always had really weird dreams. They're always random and don't seem to mean anything, but I just wanna know if this is normal. One of my more messed up dreams started out with my mom getting in an argument with my dad and sisters. I was in my room listening when o heard a bunch of screaming and crashing around. Then my dad bursts in my room and starts to pull me outside. As he's pulling me I see my mom with a bloody knife and my sisters both dead on the ground. We ran past her and ran outside and ran down the street. Halfway down the road he stopped and said he wanted to go bac and try to calm my mom down. I tried to convince him otherwise but he insisted. I watched him walk back to the house. As he walked up the front steps, the front door slammed open and my non shot him. So I freaked out and kept running. And I woke up soon after that. I have scary dreams all the time. Idk what they mean.

Yes I have had many extremely disturbing dreams... Tho I can never remember them. They are mentally draining . I suugest no scary movies before bed and calm yourself down before you sleep.

Stress is factor #1. after my divorce I had nightmares 5 nights a week all night long. Bad ones ... I'd wake up sweating, crying, screaming, jumping out of bed etc. After 9 months of it I was ready to be medicated... But once the stress dyed down my dreams slowed too. I adverage 2 bad ones a week. I've noticed they r usually when I am too hot at night.
